Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals opted for full retentions, securing six players each. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings retained four, three, and two players, respectively.

Nicholas Pooran (Lucknow Super Giants): Promoted to the top order, Pooran justified the decision by scoring a rapid 70 off 26 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, including six sixes and six fours. His aggressive batting has been instrumental in Lucknow's strong start. 


Moeen Ali (Kolkata Knight Riders): Stepping up in the absence of Sunil Narine, Moeen delivered a stellar bowling performance, taking 2-23 against Rajasthan Royals. His approach of thinking like a batter while bowling has added depth to Kolkata's spin attack. 


Mitchell Starc (Delhi Capitals): Achieving his first five-wicket haul in the IPL, Starc led Delhi to a seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. His figures of 5-35 underscored his pivotal role in the team's bowling lineup.
